About

Fleetville Harmony is a small acappella choir with about 15 members. No audition is necessary to join, and you do not have to be able to read music. We meet term time only at Fleetville Infants’ School main hall (enter via back gate on Woodstock Road South) on Monday evenings from 7:30pm – 9pm.

Come and try out a free taster session by contacting us at https://fleetville-harmony.org.uk/contact/

We include pop classics, swing, world music, traditional arrangements and home-grown compositions in our repertoire. Examples from our repertoire include:

  • Blue Moon
  • Eternal Flame
  • Help!
  • Deep River
  • City of Stars
  • Happy by Pharrell Williams
  • In My Room
  • Ave Verum
  • The Lion Sleeps Tonight

We perform at local community events and often for charities.

Fleetville is a part of St Albans that developed when printing works moved here from Fleet Street in London in the late 19th century. The name derived from that.

The term a capella means singing without instrumental accompaniment or ‘unaccompanied’. Literally it means ‘in the chapel’ and comes from religious unaccompanied singing.
